We studied the zodiac signs of known serial killers because we specialize in astrology. Even the most sensitive and educated psychiatrists, academicians, and criminologists cannot determine what makes a serial killer—nature, nurture, or all of the above—after decades of study.
Are they mostly fiery Leos or cunning Libras? We examined over 500 serial killers from around the world to see which indications may be overrepresented.
Serial Killer Zodiac Signs
- Nearly 40% of serial killers are Cancerians, Pisces, Sagittarians, and Scorpios.
- The combined percentage of Gemini and Taurus is 11%, disproving the idea that Geminis are scheming.
- The average number of victims per Capricorn killer was higher than any other sign.
- They killed over 800 people, averaging 19; Virgo killers averaged seven.
- In our investigation, Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio had the most killers and victims—28% and 27%, respectively.
Most Common Serial Killer Signs
- We found several sun indications among the 485 serial killers: Cancer, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Pisces were the four most common serial murderer signs with 46 apiece.
- Taurus and Gemini tied with 27 each were the least common.
- Our analysis found that the four top signals account for 38% of serial killers, whereas the bottom two account for 11%. Geminis Jeffrey Dahmer and “Son of Sam” Sam Berkowitz are serial killers.
- Scorpio, known for its weaknesses of aggressiveness, manipulation, and jealousy, tops this list.
- Pisces may let their exterior emotions take over, Cancer may feel isolated since they can’t fit in, and Sagittarius speaks and acts without filters.
Less Likely to Kill
- These killers committed at least 5,125 murders.
- We utilized legally confirmed or generally agreed-upon numbers for how many people each killer killed, however many serial killers are suspected of many more fatalities than authorities have proven.
- The lowest number of victims of Taurus serial killers may surprise you as Taurus is tough, possessive, and unyielding. Taurus is stubborn but sensitive.
- We can see that Capricorn killers kill more people than other signs, while Virgos kill the fewest.
- Capricorns are disciplined and self-controlled, therefore serial killers may be resisting their nature.
- Capricorns are also notorious for pressing others to follow their values.

- Strangely, Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio have the most killers and victims.
- Due to their sensitivity, water signs like Cancer and Pisces may experience tremendous pain.
- Fire signs—Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius—have the fewest victims and earth signs—Capricorn, Virgo, and Taurus—the fewest killers.
The Deadliest U.S. Killer
- Harold Shipman, a UK doctor, is believed to have killed over 200 of his patients between 1975 and 1998 by injecting them with medical heroin and falsifying their medical records to make them appear ill.
- Shipman committed suicide in prison after being convicted of 15 murders.

- Little admitted to 93 killings between 1970 and 2005 before his 2020 jail death, but only 61 victims were confirmed.

Methodology
- We identified 485 serial killers with birth dates.
- This excludes couple or group killers and those with unknown birth dates.
- An F.B.I.-defined serial killer commits two or more killings in different occasions.
- This definition eliminates mass murderers and political figures.
- We analyzed data from Wikipedia, Murderpedia, and several news organizations using each person’s sun sign.
