Jessa Duggar is close to increasing her brood. On Friday, December 8, the former reality star announced in a child-themed Instagram Q&A that she is having her fifth child: “My due date is December 22, so we are close.” That’s certain!

After losing their previous baby, Jessa and Ben Seewald announced their pregnancy in September, surprising fans with their positive news.

“After a heartbreaking loss last year, we’re so thankful God has blessed us with a rainbow baby,” Duggar told fans. She and Ben shared her terrible miscarriage in February. Jessa emphasized the remarkable connection between this pregnancy loss and the upcoming child during her Q&A.

“After our loss last year, we sort of thought we might take a break and not get pregnant for a while, but lo and behold, our surprise baby was on the way.

We discovered out around April maybe,” Jessa went on Friday.“It’s crazy the way things worked out. We couldn’t have arranged the timing this way if we tried.”

Jessa and Ben announced their miscarriage in a February YouTube video called “Heartbreak Over the Holidays.” In one clip, the Arkansas native reported she noticed strange spotting and planned an ultrasound for the next day. This is when she and Ben learnt of their baby’s death.

“Nothing could have prepared me for the weight of those words,” Jessa previously said. I became hopeful once the spotting stopped.

“I was in shock. No words came to mind. I immediately started bawling. Ben hugged me.” I know rainbow babies make you cry differently, she said. “Every birth is sweet and a miracle, and a new life is so exciting, but those rainbow babies are extra special.” Jessa and Ben have son Spurgeon, 8, Henry, 6, and Ivy, 4, in addition to Fern and the unnamed baby.
