‘1000-Lb. Sisters’: Tammy Slaton’s Husband Caleb Willingham Was Worried She’d ‘Leave’ Him Before His Tragic Death

In the ‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ premiere, Tammy Slaton leaves recovery after a year, devastating Caleb Willingham.Life is improving for Tammy Slaton. In the 1000-Lb. Sisters premiere, Tammy discusses her new spouse Caleb Willingham. Caleb makes me happy. He’s the nicest thing that’s ever happened to me,” she says in the December 12 premiere.

Two months have passed since Caleb and Tammy married. Patients can sleep in the same room in rehab, but physicians won’t let them share a bed for “safety reasons.”Tammy says she and Caleb are progressing. “Caleb and I have been losing weight and reaching goals,” she explains. Caleb walks more. I weigh 430 pounds presently. Just under 300 pounds in 15 months.”

The reality star removed her trach. After achieving her aim, she can go home. Caleb can’t remove his trach. Without removing the trach, he can’t leave rehab with her.“I can’t imagine walking out of this place without my husband,” Tammy says. Caleb says, “I don’t want to hold you back, and I feel like I let you down.” Caleb claims he would “never in a million years” invite her over. He won’t stop Tammy from heading home.

“My weight kept me from seeing the world, most of my life. I’m not mentally ready to leave you, Tammy tells Caleb. Tammy says meeting her husband was “the best thing that ever happened in my life” as she leaves treatment.She says, “Please remove that. The trach. Join me home.” Caleb says, “I want to go with you so bad, but I don’t wanna be a burden.”

Caleb discusses his biggest concerns about Tammy leaving treatment to return home in a separate interview. “I know that this is it,” he says. The final time I’ll see Tammy in this room. My last kiss will be with my wife. Tammy’ll leave you is all I hear in my brain. Tammy thinks you’re not enough. Caleb reads his poem for Tammy before she leaves.Caleb married Tammy briefly. They married in November 2022. Caleb died abruptly on June 30, 2023. His age was 40. New 1000-Lb. Sisters episodes air Tuesdays on TLC.
