Anna Cardwell Ex-Husband Sues June Shannon for Custody of Other Daughter

Kylee’s dad is now suing for Kaitlyn’s custody. He cites their closeness and June’s many motherhood and grandmotherhood failures.
The US Sun reported Monday that Anna Cardwell’s ex, Michael Cardwell, is suing June Shannon for custody of 11-year-old Kaitlyn.He filed this case a week after Anna’s terminal adrenal cancer death.
Her daughters are Kaitlyn Clark, 11, and Kylee Cardwell, 8. Michael quickly took custody of Kylee, his daughter.Michael is active in Kylee’s life. While Kaitlyn’s biological father hasn’t done the same, she’s spent time with Michael.Michael claims June was “inconsistent” in Kaitlyn’s life in court.
June’s personal events (her downward spiral a few years ago nearly killed her) and June and Anna’s estrangements contributed to this. No petty ones either.Michael and Anna split in 2017, more than half Kaitlyn’s lifetime ago, but stayed in touch.Michael would reportedly take both girls on custodial visits.
He says that he has “fully and completely undertaken a permanent, unequivocal, committed, and responsible parental role” for Kaitlyn.Michael also “engaged in consistent caretaking of the child and established a bonded and dependent relationship with the child” according to his court declaration.
The lawsuit states that “Both [Michael and Anna] understood, acknowledged, accepted and behaved as though [Michael] is a parent of the child and accepted full and permanent responsibilities as a parent.”
The lawsuit states that Michael did this “without expectation of financial compensation.” Since she was a newborn, he was her dad.He may have proof that others agree.Anna vlogged about their relationship in 2015, when Kaitlyn was in preschool.
“Kaitlyn’s father is Michael, and that’s where it’s gonna be, and that’s where it’s gonna stay,” her late mother said.Anna and Michael were married. However, those were her words.Michael also assessed June’s suitability as Kaitlyn’s caregiver.June gave up Alana years ago. Anna spent half her childhood with her maternal grandmother, not June.
June was involved in the debacle that ruined Here Comes Honey Boo Boo nearly a decade ago. TLC, which has broadcast several monsters, fired her and canceled the series despite having many episodes.Mark McDaniel abused Anna as a child. June reunited with him after prison. They shared a bed.
This caused Anna’s longtime estrangement from her mother.
