INGREDIENTS

FOR THE CAKE

  • 2 cups (240 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cups (350 g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cups (88.5 g) dark cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons (8 g)  baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon (3 g) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5.6 g) salt
  • 1 cup (240 g)  buttermilk at room temperature
  • 1 cup (236.6 g) hot water
  • 1/2 cup (109 g)  vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon (4.2 g) pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips dusted in cocoa powder or flour

FOR THE GANACHE

  • 3/4-1 cup (180-240 g) heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz. dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

FOR THE CAKE

  • Bake at a temperature of 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare your bundt pan by spraying it with non-stick spray, then carefully dusting it with cocoa powder or flour and setting it aside.
  • The flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt should be mixed together in the bowl of an electric mixer that has a paddle attachment. Mix the ingredients together on low speed until they are completely blended.
  • You should mix the buttermilk, water, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract together in a separate basin.
  • It is important to scrape the bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula when slowly adding the wet components to the dry ones while the mixer is set at a low speed. The chocolate chips should be folded in.
  • The batter should be poured into the bundt pan, and the cake should be baked for forty to fifty minutes (it took me exactly forty-five minutes), or until a toothpick embedded in the middle of the cake comes out with a few wet crumbs on it.
  • Allow the cake to completely cool in the pan before turning it out onto a cake stand.

FOR THE GANACHE

  • Put the cream in a bowl that can go in the microwave and heat it for about a minute. After pouring the mixture over the chocolate chips, swirl it gently until it is completely smooth. If necessary, microwave the mixture once more for twenty to thirty seconds while stirring it until all of the chocolate has melted.
  • Immediate usage is recommended.
  • Crispearls or additional small chocolate chips can be used as a garnish.
