Easy Rum Cake Recipe: An easy recipe for rum cake, which is a treat that is cooked with walnuts and covered with a buttery sauce. The cake is soaked in rum.

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup dark rum
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix


  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup white sugar
  •  cup water
  • ¼ cup rum


  • Pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius). Prepare a Ten-inch Bundt or tube pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • To make the cake, prepare the pan by sprinkling walnuts over the bottom of the pan and setting it aside.
  • Using a large bowl, thoroughly combine the cake mix, eggs, dark rum, water, oil and vanilla custard mix. Mix until everything is thoroughly blended. The batter should be poured over the walnuts that are in the pan.
  • Bake for approximately one hour in an oven that has been preheated until a toothpick that has been placed into the centre comes out clean. After the cake has cooled, flip it over onto a dish that is intended for serving. A toothpick or stick should be used to make holes in the top and sides of the cake in a gentle manner.
  • Create a glaze by: In a saucepan, melt the butter by heating it over medium heat. Bring the sugar and water to a boil after stirring them into the melted butter. Keep stirring the mixture as it cooks for five minutes. Take the glaze off the heat and mix in the rum.
  • Warm glaze should be drizzled over the top and edges of the cake.
