Luann de Lesseps Reveals Tinsley Mortimer Was in the Mix to Appear on ‘RHUGT: RHONY Legacy’

Luann de Lesseps exclusively told Hollywood Life she was ‘surprised’ that one of her five cast members was asked to do the show.

Luann de Lesseps was unaware that Kristen Taekman would join her and four former RHONYC co-stars for the new season of Ultimate Girls Trip. Luann exclusively revealed Hollywood Life before the show’s December 14 launch that Tinsley Mortimer was originally in consideration for the cast.

“I was not surprised that it’s myself, Dorinda [Medley], Ramona [Singer], and Sonja [Morgan],” Luann remarked. I hadn’t thought about Kristen Taekman in a while, so I was surprised. She lives in LA. However, Tinsley Mortimer failed.“And then Kelly [Bensimon]— I’ve been planning on having her back for years,” Luann said. I’ve been promoting her on the program and hoping she’ll return, and she did!

In St. Barts this summer, Luann, Dorinda, Ramona, Sonja, Kelly, and Kristen filmed RHUGT: RHONY Legacy. Since leaving RHONY in 2020, Tinsley has been living a low-profile life. In Palm Beach, Florida, she married her fiancé Robert Bovard.The ladies were thrilled to film the first season of RHUGT with cast members from the same program, Luann remarked.

“It looks natural because we’re naturally friends,” she said. Faking friendships is challenging, as seen on numerous shows. Our cast has a history and organic friendships. That shows and makes it more fascinating and intense.”Despite the new cast replacing Luann and the other RHONY OGs, the “Money Can’t Buy You Class” singer is pleased of their 13 seasons of epic experiences.

“The show ran well. Legacy failed. I loved the one-week trip with the girls, Luann stated. I now perform cabaret in Crappie Lake. Other tasks keep me busy. Just finished The Masked Singer. I’m enjoying other pursuits.

“But I do think that RHONY OG’s need to go everywhere in the world,” Luann said, adding that the women would enjoy traveling like they do on Below Deck. “I think we need an OG Housewife trip every year.”Peacock airs the first three episodes of RHUGT: RHONY Legacy on Thursday, December 14. Weekly installments will air on Thursdays.
